Thanks to their extensive experience with building timpanis, Ludwig knows a thing or two about copper. Now, they've applied that knowledge to create the LC663 Copper Phonic snare drum. The LC663 is made of a 1.2mm-thick sheet of copper that is crafted into a durable seamless shell. As such, it does not have any structural weak points, allowing the drumhead tension to be equally distributed across all the lugs. Besides the unique shell that gives it its uniquely warm and dry sound, this model is the same as Ludwig's famous Supraphonic snare drums.
